Being the Architect

Nick Deaver exhibits his personal drawings and plans at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the ARTS for First Friday in Lubbock Texas.  The exhibit coincides with a workshop for Texas Tech University Architecture students entitled, “Being The Architect: An exhibit of drawings, communications, struggles, and discoveries of an architect seeking beauty and meaning in the architecture he creates with his clients.”

Historic Buaas House

The Historic Landmark Commission approves a Certificate of Appropriateness of Nick Deaver Architect’s plans to renovate and make additions to the Buaas House, originally built in Clarksville, Austin in 1872. Unsympathetic additions will be removed and a new structure built complimenting and contrasting the original “I” building.

“Canyon” sculpture award

Nick’s sculpture titled “Canyon” won a first award at the Austin AIA Art by Architects. It is on display till June 30th at the Austin Center for Architecture.

“Three Stones”, the Parlee-Hegland Residence which is located in Austin, TX, is selected as a top twenty finalist in Dwell Magazine’s “Houses We Love.”  The twenty finalists were selected from entries from around the world.
